The Honeymoon - Train Ride to Durango/Silverton in Colorado

Jay and I drove from the desert of Arizona to the forests of Colorado. We went to Durango, CO and took an old steam-engine narrow-gauge train all the way up to Silverton, CO. It was absolutely beautiful.

The river is the Animas River. It went from blue to blue-green to green-brown to brown as we travelled!
Much of the trip was high on a ledge overlooking the river -scary!

We stopped at this little waterfall so the train could fill up with water to make more steam!

Look! It's me!
Look! It's the lovebirds - Jay and Amy!
These rocks were wicked smooth, but were only there, no where else.

We got to Silverton and had lunch in a restaurant that was once the town's first bordello. Jay thought that was a riot! Isn't he so handsome!

The train parked at the Depot in Silverton.
Jay and his train. Both rugged and surly!
This pic shows you how close the train comes to the ledge on the side facing away from the river. We were warned not to stick anything out the windows, but I had to get pictures!

The train had to occassionally blow off excess steam.

I'm not sure, but I think this may have been my favorite part of the trip!
