Greek Easter

Went into Southie for Greek Easter today. All I have to say is - lamb, feta cheese, olives and gloktabori (spelled wrong, I'm sure). So, so YUMMY! And I played with the kids for HOURS! I'm thoroughly exhausted.

My sister Becky made this cake. It's supposed to be a bunny for Easter, but it kinda looks like a mouse! The kids loved it.

Remember the kids' table. I sat at it until I was about 25!

We did a lot of coloring. I wish I took a picture of my coloring. It was awesome.

This is Maggie. She thinks I'm a "teenager." I just smile and nod! Love her!

America's Hometown

Yesterday, work brought me to Pilgrim Memorial State Park in Plymouth, MA. You know...the home of the (in)famous Plymouth Rock. It was a gorgeous day and I was so glad to be out of the office. I could sooo live in Plymouth. I just love it! Maybe someday...at least I get to spend my summers here!

Last night Jay, Hank and I took a hike to a vernal pool we've been keeping our eyes on. We brought a net and bucket and did some muck scooping. We found all sorts of creepy crawlies and even a baby frog (aka tadpole), but no salamanders or fairy shrimp. We're going to go back in a few weeks and see what we can find. I love that we make it a priority to spend a lot of time outdoors. I bet Jay and I spend more time outdoors than 75% of the people in Massachusetts. I love it, especially now that spring has sprung! It reached 70 degrees yesterday!

As we were walking on the trail, I found some hair from a white-tail deer.Of course Hank had to sniff, sniff, sniff it!

I Feel Like a Four Year Old!

So I gave blood today. Everything was going along just fine until after I finished giving blood and I got to the station where they give you a drink and some cookies. I remember sitting down, taking the cap off my cranberry juice, feeling dizzy and then....

I was in a deep, deep sleep and woke up to about six nurses huddled around me! And I was on the floor! And there were wet cloths all over my face! And there was a sheet on me!

I had no clue where I was or what happened - it was so scary! I quickly regained my senses and asked how long I had been out. The nurse said less than a minute. Then I asked if I fell, and she said that I slumped at the table, but they put me on the floor.

Then, THEN! I felt a little weird 'down there' and realized that I PEED MY PANTS!!!!! That's right folks, I peed my pants like a little kid! There were people sitting pretty close to me and I kept saying "I can't believe I peed my pants!", and the nurse kept telling me to shush - she was so embarrassed for me. But, I mean, HELLO! It was totally apparent that I peed my pants when I passed out! I thought it was kind of funny.

I had to call Jay to come get me - they wouldn't let me drive home because I almost passed out again when they sat me up. I got pee on the seat of his Chevelle! I thought he was going to have a heart attack! But I told him I peed my pants, so he should have put a towel down or something. It's going to be a long time before I give blood again! And hopefully that's all I'll 'donate!"

I took this video when we were riding the golf cart. First, I'm an idiot and don't know how to make this not sideways. Second, do I really giggle this much? Ug.

My Weekend

First of all, yesterday was April 11th. And it snowed. Seriously, what the hell is up with that? And it wasn't a tiny little flurry - it was coming down hard for about 30 minutes or so. I tried taking pictures, but they all came out crappy. If you look at the picture below, you can see some white streaks, including a huge one in the upper left corner. That, my friends, is snow. On Thursday, I had dinner with the Hendies and EB's friend, Norma. We also watched the first episode of Parks and Recreation. It was sooo funny! And it's funny to watch a show that's based around what I do!

The Z's got a golf cart! Jay pumped up the tires and took Hank and I for a ride through the woods. It was so much fun and I couldn't stop laughing and screaming as we tore down the trail.

Saturday was date night. We went to the Eagle Brook Saloon and drank some of their yummy, yummy beer. It was nice to get out and just chill with Jay. And I'll leave you with these images of two of my favorite guys:

Boring

Boring, boring...my life is boring! I haven't posted in about a gah-zillion years, but I've just been busy with work, looking at houses, and life in general. I'm still here. Hopefully I'll get back to this blogging thingy soon. It's good to take a break once in a while (that applies to everything, not just blogging).
