The Pictures Are Here!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Slacka

So, this is only my fourth post in March. Total slacka. I saw some of my girlfriends on Saturday morning. We had a good time walking down memory lane. Very nice.
Here's Fran. She's very happy as she and Jessye are going to be home owners very shortly!
And EB's happy as she found some Brie!
Here's Mr. Grant. I got to spend some time with Drew and Grant this weekend. Very nice, indeed!
And Beefer!

Jay and I went to Falmouth on Sunday on sort of a mini, two-day delayed honeymoon. Well, more like a weekend away. Anyway, we stayed at the Inn on the Square and it was beautiful. We got a cup of tea and walked all over town. We took a walk at South Cape Beach and went swimming in the heated indoor pool. I went swimming - Jay went drowning. Sometimes I think I want to go to Hawaii with Jay, but then I realize that I would spend the entire time worried that Jay is drowning in the waves, so I don't think we'll ever do that. We are planning our Arizona/Utah trip for September (I can't wait). Woo-hoo!

Busy Weekend

Quick Update:

Had a TERRIFIC WEEKEND!

1. Friday night, I went on a date with my husband *gasp* (that sounds so weird)! We went to a little Italian place for dinner - it was so yum.

2. Saturday morning brought me to Rachel's baby shower. She looked so cute and healthy and happy! I can't wait to see her new little girl - just a few more months. It was also really nice to see some of my bestest friends.

3. Jay and I spent Saturday evening with some of my favorite people: Jami, Andy, Drew, and Grant. I was amazed by a few things: Jami's delicious food, Drew's rapidly growing vocabulary, Grant's happiness in the sling, and only in the sling, and Jay's attempts to play with little kids. He tries, but he is sooo not a natural!

4. My mumma gave me a new piece of stained glass. She got it at an art co-op and I love it - it's kind of 3D, hopefully you can see it in the pictures. I'll have to post later this week with a few pictures of the wedding present Jay got me - a beautiful hand-made, one-of-a-kind stained glass panel from Etsy (my favorite website).

5. Finally, today we celebrated my Grampie's 99th birthday. That's right, folks - 99 years old! He was in great spirits and we celebrated with some of his favorite things: pizza, ice cream cake, and a trip down memory lane with a family slide show. It was great. I am a very lucky 32 year old to still have all four of my grandparents.

MEES Conference Success

Woo-hoo! Yesterday was a big day - it was the day of the annual Massachusetts Environmental Education Society (MEES) Conference. This year's theme was Environmental Sustainability in our Schools, Centers, and Selves. The conference drew 278 environmental educators from across Massachusetts (with a couple of people from neighboring states) and was a grand success. I was able to attend two sessions: 'Got Math?: Using Marine Mammal Rehabilitation to Create Math Activities' and 'You've Removed the Invasive Plants - Now What?' These were great sessions and I learned a lot. I also got the opportunity to see many of my friends in the field and talk and chat and laugh. Here are some pics from the day:
Brian using some cool technology to analyze the environment:
Diane Edgecomb presenting "Folktales in the Forest," an environmental storytelling program.
Barb and friend learning green architecture activities to share with children and students.
Jim and Betsey!
Robin with her little red phase screech owl.
Cynthia and Tim in a great conversation about some NEEEA changes.
Melissa and Kathryn manning the registration desk.
Val and Nancy having a DCR discussion.

Connecticut Valley Biological always puts on a great display - and they have great give-aways!
Registration moving smoothly.

Our First Weekend as a Married Couple!

And we spent it completely apart! I worked Friday night as I had planned an Astonomy Festival, but it got cancelled due to the weather. I went anyway, in case people showed up so I could provide a friendly face and explanation. Good think because about a 1/2 dozen cars pulled up.

Then on Saturday - Hank, EB and I drove up to Becky's to spend the night with Becky, Danny, Thea, Jay-Lynne, and Marley. We went out to Browns in Hampton Beach and got lobster, fried clams, steamers and beer. So, so, so good!

Jay left on Saturday with three of his friends to go snowmobiling in New Hampshire. He had a great time and got home last night at midnight. Right now he's out plowing the driveway 'cause we got a ton of snow last night! Here are some pictures from Jay's weekend (he had the camera!):
